Jeff Tucker
Jeff is the Lead Software Engineer at Elexicon and joined the team in March of 2004. He has 9 years experience in web-based application development and design as well as 3 years experience in publication layout and design. He has consulted for companies in many industries including governmental agencies, non-profits, furniture and other manufacturing, tier one web hosting, food, hospitality, and publishing. He possesses a strong knowledge of primarily Microsoft technologies and solutions as well as the balanced insight of his creative background.
Before joining Elexicon, Jeff worked as the Senior Software Architect for Portico Technology Partners where he led the development of a lean manufacturing application to manage assembly work instructions. As the software architect he became familiar with the challenges of authoring, distributing, and managing software applications.
Prior to that he was a Senior Consultant for divine, inc./marchFIRST/Whittman-Hart where he consulted with many companies to develop applications ranging from web-based content management tools, to ecommerce and business-to-business applications with legacy integration.
Before that he was the Manager of Information Systems for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a nonprofit research and educational institute, where he lead teams to develop applications for managing contributor information, as well as web-based publication distribution. He also managed the hardware and software infrastructure.
Jeff’s skill-set revolves around Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET, VB.NET and C#.NET, though he has worked with Java, Cold Fusion, JavaScript, and more. He is skilled in Flash ActionScipting, as well as popular declarative languages, like HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSL, and XPATH. He is comfortable with database development, object-relational mapping, and data-layer design, especially utilizing SQL Server 6.5 – 2002. He has also developed solutions which implement and consume Web Services. Jeff’s experience allows him to uncover hidden problems, quickly reveal options and suggest effective solutions.
Jeff holds a BS in Advertising Communications with a minor in fine art from Liberty University. He enjoys time with his wife, son and daughter, and has too many hobbies to do any one of them well. However, more excuses to golf are always appreciated.
